Sydney Kayak Tours

Sunrise on Sydney Harbour. Paddle past the Opera House before the city wakes up

Sydney Kayak Tours runs small group guided kayak tours on Sydney Harbour from Lavender Bay, on the northern side of the Harbour Bridge. Our sunrise and sunset tours put you on the water at the two best hours of the day, paddling a route with the Harbour Bridge and Opera House in front of you the whole way. It’s the view most visitors only ever see from a ferry deck or a postcard. Tours are led by experienced local guides and are built for beginners. Most of our guests have never sat in a kayak. We use stable two person sea kayaks, keep groups small enough that every paddler is looked after, and stay close to the shoreline away from ferry traffic. The business is owner operated by a local who spent years working with the Royal Australian Navy at Garden Island, on the other side of this harbour. Your guide photographs every kayak at every stop, so you go home with the shots.

  • Beginner friendly by design. Stable two person kayaks, a full on beach briefing, and no experience needed.
  • Small guided groups with a qualified local guide leading and a second guide at the back, so nobody gets left behind.
  • Photos included. Your guide shoots every kayak at every stop with the Bridge or Opera House in frame, sent to you after the tour.
  • Owner operated. We know this harbour, and we clean the one we paddle on.
